What is Boostgram?
I’m afraid I’ll have to talk in the past tense here, guys. Boostgram is no more.
Last I heard, the company was sued by Facebook for “selling fake engagement.” The lawsuit was one of the several directed at similar growth services. Things went down in October 2020, and not long after, Boostgram was forced to close its doors.
The Boostgram Instagram growth service grew big enough to make Facebook (the owner of Instagram) notice it.
Now, it’s crucial to understand that it didn’t sell engagement in bulk. It wasn’t one of those companies that you could buy an X amount of followers from. This service offered a series of automation tools that performed various Instagram tasks for you.
OK, so why was it accused of selling engagement? We’ll get to that in a minute.
To understand what the company did wrong, you first need to know how it worked. Read about it below.
How Does Boostgram Work?
Boostgram, obviously, doesn’t work anymore. While it did, it liked and followed your target audience’s posts for you. In other words, it was an automation tool, not unlike dozens of others on the market.
So, what was the problem then?
Well, it turned out that Boostgram wasn’t honest about their actions. Instead of attracting real followers by interacting with their content, the company had a pool of bots. The bots would start following your profile to make it look like Boostgram’s organic growth approach was working.
I’m not saying that all of the engagement/following was fake, but most of it certainly was.
Aside from this “automated engagement,” Boostgram included other, more useful features, such as a post scheduler. I’ll talk about this in more detail in the upcoming section.
Features Of Boostgram
At first glance, it might have appeared like Boostgram had a long list of features. But it wasn’t actually so. Check out the following section to see what I mean:
Automated Engagement
As I explained earlier, the Boostgram app was supposed to like posts and follow accounts of your target audience. The goal was clear – like/follow highly-targeted accounts, make them notice you, and they’ll (hopefully) like/follow back.
And Boostgram really did that, to an extent. But, this wasn’t what brought in most of the new followers. The service relied on bots to grow their customers’ profiles.
Some users would notice how their following has increased, but not their engagement. Instagram could “smell” this and would proceed to action-block these unsuspecting Boostgrammers.
Targeting
It’s not clear to me how Boostgram’s targeting worked. I couldn’t try it out for myself because of obvious reasons.
From what I was able to find, this tool offered hashtag, gender, and location targeting. I’m not sure if this is all they had, but if it was, it wasn’t anything special.
Post Scheduler
The post scheduler was perhaps the most benign feature of Boostgram. It allowed you to, well, schedule posts for the future, and it uploaded them automatically.
Instagram isn’t explicitly against this kind of automation unless you get real spammy. This was a useful tool indeed.
Multiple Accounts
Once you registered with Boostgram, you could manage multiple accounts. I couldn’t find any drawbacks to this feature, so I assume it could’ve been handy.
Pricing of Boostgram
For some reason, Boostgram’s website didn’t display the pricing. If you wanted to know about it, you had to email the company.
According to some third-party websites, this growth service cost $99 per month. It’s not clear whether this was their only pricing plan or not, but it wasn’t cheap if you ask me.
Aside from the high cost, the fact that the company wasn’t transparent with the prices is deterring. Why wouldn’t they show this? It gives off the impression that they were trying to hide something.
Steer clear of growth services that aren’t transparent. Chances are that there’s something they don’t want you to know.
Is Boostgram Safe? Is It Legit?
Oh boy, how do I even begin answering this?
No, Boostgram wasn’t legit nor safe to use.
I already explained the main issue – they were lying about what they do and showered their customers’ accounts with bots. The customers took the brunt of these actions and regularly got action-blocked by Instagram.
Aside from this, the users had to give Boostgram their passwords. Some people reported numerous logins on their accounts from different locations.
There were also difficulties with unsubscribing. The process was complicated and not always successful. This led to people getting charged long after their unsubscription attempt.
As you can see, Boostgram had quite a list of offenses, and it was a matter of time before they went under.

Well, there’s no way for you to use Boostgram anymore, and it’s for the better. It still puzzles me how this company got so big with such sketchy methods.
All in all, it’s gone now, and there are lessons to be learned from it.
Double, no, triple-check the credibility of any growth service before giving it your money. There are a lot of frauds out there, folks!
Of course, you can also find legit companies with an organic approach, some of which I mentioned today. Don’t be satisfied with anything short of the best growth tools out there!
