The Best Instagress Alternative – Read All About It Here

If you’re here because you heard about Instagress and you want to know all about the service before trying it out, I have bad news for you.

Instagress is no more.

Yup, the service was shut down way back in 2017, but people are still talking about it. Indeed, it was a big deal back then, and I guess it had a significant impact on the whole Instagram growth scene.

Even though it doesn’t exist anymore, it’s still a good idea to read all about it. If nothing else, to find out what it is that they did wrong.

In my Instagress review, I’ll explain it thoroughly and stay with me until the end cause I’ll talk about the best Instagress alternatives.

Let’s dig in!

What Is Instagress?

A picture of what used to be Instagress’ home page

Instagress was a true to type Instagram growth service. It was a fully automated tool that was meant to help people increase engagement rates and impressions.

It had a few main features: the auto follow, auto like, and auto comment.

The automated liking was a good one – at least compared to the others. The goal of the like feature was to get people to notice you and hopefully follow you.

Now you may wonder why you’d hope for that when there’s the auto follow feature. Well, because that one didn’t work quite well, but I’ll get to that in a second.

Instagress had another feature called auto unfollow. This one proved to be useful at times, especially when it managed to eliminate bot followers.

But the thing is, Instagress was the one who brought bots in the first place, so the auto unfollow feature is them basically trying to undo their own doing.

Despite all this, people still liked Instagress. My guess is it’s because the service was cost-effective and very simple to use.

How Instagress Works?

Instagress was a web-based service. Generally, people don’t like the hassle of having to download and set up stuff, so this was considered Instagress’ advantage.

Sadly, their website is no longer available, so you can’t check it out and see the steps I’m about to describe.

Well, you technically can still visit the site, but all you’ll find there is a heartfelt message about the service being shut down and the option to log in if you want to ask for a refund. That’s nice, I guess.

So, how did it work?

It was a straightforward process:

  • Go to their website
  • Choose a “package” (you’ll see in the pricing section why the quotation marks)
  • Proceed to payment
  • Watch Instagress do its “magic”

Based on the gazillions of reviews I managed to find, Instagress did what it promised to do.

They delivered the service without exception, so that was never an issue.

The problem laid with the quality of the service.

The idea behind Instagress wasn’t mind-blowing, but it could’ve worked if executed well. And this one wasn’t.

Sure, using Instagress’ service would bring you some followers, perhaps even a lot (depending on what you consider a lot). As I said, this wasn’t the issue. The real problem was the authenticity of their followers.

There was no way for Instagress to differentiate between the fake accounts and real ones, so it brought them all to your profile willy-nilly.

And if there’s one thing you don’t want on Instagram, it’s bot followers.

Features Of Instagress

I mentioned Instagress was a classic automation tool, so you can probably guess what it did. Nevertheless, let’s take a closer look at the features; some of them might surprise you.

Targeting Audience

Instagress’ targeting filters were quite poor.

They only had two: targeting based on hashtags and location. They didn’t limit how many hashtags you could use, and many users confessed to going nuts in that section.

Did it pay off, though?

Nope.

More often than you’d want, the tool would just follow and like randomly instead of according to the tags.

Auto Unfollow

Many folks found this feature to be handy. The auto unfollow would automatically unfollow any account that hasn’t followed you back after three days.

It also helped you get rid of bots – I touched upon this earlier.

But the auto unfollow feature was a two-edged sword: while it removed bots from your profile, it also eliminated the real accounts as well. The tool just couldn’t tell them apart.

Auto Comment

Unless the tool is ultra-advanced or supervised by an actual human being, it’s never a good idea to use an auto comment feature.

Mediocre services like Instagress don’t have the means for this feature to perform well.

You could create a few generic comments with simple content, like: “Awesome!” or “Looking pretty!” but you have to admit, these sound way too botty.

And there’s always a chance the bot leaves a totally inappropriate comment since it can’t really understand the context or subcontext of a specific post.

Speed

This was probably Instagress’ best feature. The service allowed you to control at what speed it would perform all actions, and they even suggested you never put it at high cause it could raise suspicion.

Unfortunately, even setting the speed as low as possible managed to get you banned – nothing gets past Instagram’s bot detection tools.

Activity

Instagress had a section on their site called Activity. This is where you could check how much time you have left (check Pricing for details about this) and whether you’re making any progress.

Instagress Pricing

Instagress had a unique pricing strategy. They sold server time instead of classic packages.

You could buy it for 3, 10, or 30 days, so what you’re actually paying for is 3, 10, or 30 days of server time.

Although it was a bit unorthodox, it was convenient, especially since you didn’t have to use it all at once. You could turn it on and off as you pleased, which gave you full control of the purchased time. The Activity section was for keeping track of the time and pausing it as you wish.

The price points were very affordable – 3 days of server time cost $1.99, 10 days went for $4.99, and the 30-day deal was $9.99. Yup, only 10 bucks a month.

Oh, and there was a free demo as well.

Is Instagress Safe, Legit, Or Scam?

All this time you’re probably wondering: Why did Instagress get shut down?

There’s a legit reason why Instagrass shut down. Although it’s not official, it’s most likely due to violating Facebook terms and Instagram’s strict rules about bots.

Instagress wasn’t a scam, per se, but they certainly didn’t play by the rules, so I can’t say it was 100% safe to use it.

Instagress: Should You Use It Or Not?

Well, you couldn’t even if you wanted to. But hypothetically, should you?

I wouldn’t if I were you.

Albeit one of the most affordable growth services, Instagress just didn’t meet the expectations. Most people were happy to try it for its low prices and simplicity, but, in the end, it’s not what you want (or need).

Fake followers put you at constant risk of getting banned by Instagram, and you don’t get the most important thing – organic growth

I know I’ve said it already (more than a few times) how essential organic growth is. Nothing compares to the safety and effectiveness of real growth, so make sure to check out the best organic growth services I listed below.
