What Is PopSocial For Instagram?

PopSocial’s homepage

The first thing you need to know about the PopSocial app is that you can’t really know what it is until you try it out.

Their website is profoundly vague.

They throw around terms like “campaign organization,” “proven methods,” and “market research,” but nowhere do they explain what it is and how it works.

The only thing that doesn’t lack information is the self-advertising portion of the site.

So, for the sake of a spot-on review, I decided to test it out and gain the first-hand experience.

Needless to say, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, not until I saw the tool in action.

How PopSocial Works?

Here’s the number one thing I realized when I first started using PopSocial:

It’s a bot in disguise.

PopSocial’s purpose is to perform basic tasks on your behalf. In essence, it’s a classic automation bot.

The actions include likes, follows, comments, and DMs.

Nothing we haven’t seen a million times before.

Somewhere on their site (in suspiciously small letters), it says you’ll get a dedicated account manager who will “build a customized social media growth strategy” for you.

And, naturally, PopSocial claims that it’s a real person.

People who actually believed this are in for a rude awakening – all of it is pure nonsense.

I’m speaking from experience when I say I never got in touch with a manager of any kind, neither a real person nor a bot.

And I’m not the only one. The same thing happened to other users, according to Trustpilot reviews.

Getting Started With PopSocial

There are a few steps you have to follow if you want to use PopSocial. They are as follows:

  1. Register on their website – they require an email, password, full name, and phone number
  2. Choose a subscription plan upon registration and pay on the spot
  3. Connect your Instagram account
  4. Set up a filter to target users from your niche

I’ll admit it was a bit unsettling having to leave your phone number.

However, I can attest nothing terrible happened. Plus, no reviews mention PopSocial abusing personal data. It’s actually one of the best things about them.

PopSocial Features

By the end of this section, you’ll see that the PopSocial Instagram app has only a few elementary features.

Maybe that’s the reason behind their extreme vagueness.

Targeting Audience

PopSocial offers only one way to target an audience.

Once you sign up, you’ll be asked to leave IG handles of users from your niche.

The assumption is that followers of accounts from your niche will be interested in your content.

It’s not a bad strategy at all, but this one filter is not enough for accurate targeting, especially for a bot like PopSocial.

And let’s not forget there’s always a possibility that those accounts have fake followers, which basically means PopSocial is attracting bots to your profile.

Instagram is pretty clear about their bot policy. It’s a huge no-no.

Automated Actions

The auto-follow feature follows accounts based on the one filter I previously mentioned. All you can do is hope that those users will follow you back and that they are, indeed, real people.

Automated likes have one big issue – PopSocial doesn’t know when to stop.

It likes posts incessantly, oftentimes resulting in an action block.

That’s when Instagram temporarily blocks your account from performing tasks such as liking.

It’s basically a warning that they’re onto you, and next time they catch you using a bot, there’s a good chance you get banned for good.

Besides this, there are auto-comments and DMs, which don’t really work.

Pricing Of PopSocial

You can’t access the Pricing portion of their site until you sign up. What’s up with that?

PopSocial’s two most popular packages are these:

Even the cheapest one called Basic is not cheap at all. There are another two options that are advertised as advanced:

Honestly, PopSocial overestimates itself.

I mean, paying over 800 bucks a month for any type of growth service is plain ridiculous.

What’s more, they don’t have a free trial, but they expect people will pay hundreds of dollars just based on their word.

Is PopSocial For Instagram Legit?

My main issue with PopSocial is how suspiciously little information they offer.

Nothing on how it works, prices are not available until you sign up, there’s no FAQ page, and it’s almost impossible getting in touch with their customer support.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

A few users complained PopSocial continued to charge them even after unsubscribing.

To tell you the truth, I seriously doubt the company is 100% legitimate.

PopSocial Alternatives

PopSocial is just not worth it.

In my opinion, you’d be better off with any other service that offers organic growth. Check out the ones I listed below.

PopSocial: Should You Use It Or Not?

PopSocial is not the absolute worst growth service out there.

However, their business strategy and ways of operating are – to put it mildly – dishonest.

The utter lack of information and the deceitfulness of it all makes me think the company is not 100% legit.

And as a cherry on top, they expect you to pay a serious amount of money.

In the end, I just don’t think PopSocial is worth it. It turns out this one is money down the drain.
